TES Grade 3 (2019-2020)-Morning Assignments

There is a link below that gives you access to a summer practice workbook. You will click on the digital access link on the 4th page if you want to make a copy and complete online before June 30th.

There will be copies of summer practice work available at TES on June 15th 1:00-3:00 or June 16th 9:00-11:00.

OPTIONAL: This is a project that we have been talking about all year. Students were going to be able to put together a book of their best 3rd grade writing during this last part of the school year. They have completed many writing projects throughout the year. We were going to look back on those assignments to edit/revise (polish them up), and then add them to their "Best 3rd Grade Writing" books. Some students sound like they would still like to make this happen during this last month of school. I have made a video that might help them get started on this project, but I am also available to help them as we go. It is a little tricky because some students have some work that was saved on flash drives, or that may not have gotten typed completely yet. It would be easiest if we can get all of their work converted to google docs and saved on their google accounts. I will do my best to help support them in getting their work together and compiled into this document. Then the hope is that I can get it printed and assembled into a book for them by the end of the school year. Currently the last distribution day is set for 6/11 and 6/12, but we can also set up another time if necessary. Students can send me messages or comments to let me know what they are needing help with, or let me know at google meetings. I will find a way to help them get things edited and in the right place, so we can get this done if this is something they are still interested in doing.

Complete as many pages as you are able to this week to help you reflect on your third grade school year.

*If you have a Q#21 try to answer the question completely by writing 3+ sentences
about the first story, 3+ sentences about the seconds story and 1-2 sentences that
show how the two stories were similar or connected. (20-24 points)

Please try to complete the daily writing or the weekly writing. You may do both if you have enough time.

Sorry the first assignment I submitted was not allowing students to edit or type on their own copy. This should help. Remember it is a short week, so do what you can, but you do not have to complete both parts of the writing this week if you run out of time. You can pick to do the daily or weekly writing.

Answer each question at the end of the week to let me know how you are doing with Distance Learning.

Daily Writing: Please do some writing every day. I would like you to try to write 3-5 sentences each day. Option 1: You can write using the writing prompts. Option 2: You can write something of your choice each day of the week. (10 points)

Weekly Writing: Write 1-3 paragraphs at the end of the week. There are two writing prompts to choose from. (10 points)

There will be some books on epic that are related to the topic of electricity and energy sources if you are looking for more to read this week.

This week you have some options for writing, but you should be writing some every day. There are some prompts on Writing Every Day, or you can have choice writing at the end of that same document. (10 points available)

There is also a Weekly Writing Project. This week it includes reading other "Jack and the Beanstalk" stories and writing a comparison between two stories. You can compare it to "Juanita and the Beanstalk" if you choose. You may find other versions on Epic (Class code nut0035), Tumble Book Library (UN:TES2020 PW:trial) or Audible which are on the TES Media Center page. (10 points available)

Watch the BrainPopJr. video on poems. If you need a Login you will use the Username: Territorial and Password: Bobcats1. After you have watched the video you will write some of your own poems throughout this week. You can do a little bit each day. Remember to use words that help you visualize what you are writing about. Use words that focus on: Sound, Smell, Taste, Touch and Sight.
